Crusaders Teams

Crusaders Baseball currently has three teams in ages 8, 10, and 12U. We are always open to adding teams pursuant to coach interviews and alliance with team principles. Please read about our coaches below.

Why create another baseball club?

We understand there is no shortage of options for parents and players to pick from in choosing where they want to play baseball. However, the expectations that we have from our coaches, families, and players is a bit different. Crusaders Baseball seeks to put culture first...coaches focused on development not wins (as the wins are a byproduct of solid development), parents that support one another and bear the fruits just as we expect our children to, respect for umpires, routine get-togethers for team building, and making every game one where players continue to grow in their love for the game.

A desire to win is a given, but to win with class and then have the character and strength to lose as well as you win...that is the difference we seek.

Coaches

Shawn grew up in Combine, TX a small town southeast of Dallas. He graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington and soon found his way into leadership positions. Today Shawn is an executive in the payments industry. Shawn is married to Kendra and they have 3 boys who all play baseball. Shawn has coached in youth baseball since 2021.

Dr. Brad Schnautz is the current GCISD Superintendent leading our greater community in the development of our youth. He has been working in education since 2002. He and his wife Jenny have four children: three girls and one boy. Brad has been involved in baseball most of his life having been drafted by the Yankees and involved in coaching youth baseball with his son since 2022.

Chris Walker grew up in the DFW and has held C level positions along with owning his own businesses. He and his wife Ashley have four children: three sons and one daughter. Chris has been involved with youth baseball extensively coaching his three sons for many years.

John Kozloski grew up in DFW and is an executive leader with an international company serving the largest global organizations. He and his wife Sarah have two sons who both play baseball. John has coached them both for years in their journey from early stages to select baseball.

Ryan grew up in the DFW area and played baseball at Grapevine High School. Afterwards, he attended Texas State University and coached a select team in San Marcos for two years. Upon graduating, he was a teacher at Westwood High School in Round Rock ISD for four years while coaching baseball, football, and basketball. Ryan and his wife Alisha have two sons who both play baseball and Ryan is thoroughly involved in their development in select baseball.

Bret Hackett grew up in the DFW area, attended the University of Texas at Arlington prior to earning his MBA from TCU. He and his wife Maggie have two sons that both play select baseball and Bret is highly involved in their development. Bret has been a coach in youth baseball since 2021.
